Save the date. Our next book club meeting is going to be on February 12th. We’re going to discuss the book “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. Do you know there is a movie based on the novel as well? Take a look on the trailer.
Save the date! Our next Book Club meeting is going to be on January 15th, right after our conversation class. We have more than a month to read the book “Me Before You”, by Jojo Moyes. “Me Before You“ brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?
Thanks to everyone who came to book club today. It was an interesting discussion. For those unable to attend, the next book is Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline. We will be discussing this book on November 20 after that Thursday’s class. You have 5 weeks to read this 248 page book, so should not have trouble finishing it. We hope you will enjoy it. It is an interesting story.
If you know of anyone else interested in joining us, feel free to pass on this information.
Eileen and Evelyn
I just wanted to give those of you who will be part of Book Club, this year, advanced notice. I hope if you are going to attend the Conversation group that you will join or continue Book Club with us.
The advanced notice is an announcement of the first book, so that you can get started reading this book ahead of time, if you wish. Evelyn and I read three books this summer that we both loved and will use as three of the books in this year’s selections. The first is my favorite. I loved reading this book and I feel certain you will too. In fact, even if you are not interested in Book Club, I recommend that you read this book.
It is not very long or difficult, so I think you will all be able to read it comfortably. The title is “The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry” by Rachel Joyce.
It is in paperback and also in the libraries. Enjoy it. We have not yet decided on a date to discuss this book, so we can give new members a chance to read it too, but I will be in touch with the date when it is decided.
See you in September,
Our last book before Summer break is “The Pearl” by John Steinbeck. Join us on May 8th to discuss this very short, but classic novella.

The next book is “Miss Julia Speaks Her Mind” by Ann B Ross. It is 278 pages and a light hearted story, so easy to read and enjoy.
We will meet to discuss this book on April 17 after the Conversation Group class, as usual.
If you have never attended or have skipped some due to the length or difficulty of the book, now is a good time to join us.
We look forward to seeing both old and new members.
